Our Match Report

North Shore Rugby Club dominated the rugby tournament winning all five games and ultimately securing the championship against Springfield. The first game against UMASS proved to be a walkover as they forfeited, giving The Reds an easy 28-0 victory.

Their next game against Freedom saw The Reds continue their winning streak with a solid performance. They managed to beat Freedom 28-10, showing great strength and tenacity on the field. Next up was Albany, whom they originally had matched up for 9am Sunday morning but a consensus was reached that playing back to back after the Freedom game was a better idea, but this didn't seem to faze The Reds. North Shore managed to come out victorious against Albany, winning 24-8.

The second day of the tournament brought on the playoffs, with The Reds going head-to-head with Amoskeag. Unfortunately, Amoskeag forfeited under the pretense of injuries and low numbers, giving The Reds another easy 28-0 victory and propelling them to the championship.

In the championship game against Springfield, The Reds faced a tough challenge. Despite a long night of drinking and a day of waiting to play, they went head-to-head with Springfield. North Shore went down early in the game, but their defense kept fighting hard. Timmy, who had potentially cracked ribs, hit the crossbar from the corner, keeping The Reds within one score.

With the game still in the balance, The Reds' backline exploited gaps left by Springfield, managing to score another try and seal the championship with a final score of 19-10. North Shore, had shown great determination, resilience, and strength throughout the tournament and were rightfully crowned champions.

Special Thanks to those guys who made the drive down Sunday with fresh legs to give us the edge on the tourney.
