Torrential downpours and flash flooding could not stop North Shore from taking the field to on Saturday against out of state rivals New London RFC. The Red's took the field looking to avenge a 76-12 defeat in the 2016 season.

North Shore went up 17-0 quick with tries scored by Vandermass and "Hung Daddy" Nick. New London answered with a quick converted try, to make the game 17-7. North Shore was able to extend their lead briefly to 24-7 with a nifty off load from Tommy MacRae to Tom Moore able to fall gracefully into the corner. New London mounted a comeback as time dwindled in the first half ending with a converted try and successful shot at goal.

The second half was much of the same, dictated by heavy pack play due to the poor conditions. The Red's were able to add two more tries and secure the bonus point with another Tommy MacRae to Tom Moore connection and a beautiful run down the weak side wing by the Nick. New London battled to the final minute, but ran out of time and ran into a defense that would not allow for any easy meters. Final score NS 34 New London 29.
