A nice day for rugby with a slight end-to-end breeze on a slippery pitch with several bogs. Being the last match for the season for both sides, this was the decider for the wooden spoon in D2 Men's. Both sides started well with strong running and tackling. North Shore broke through at 11 minutes on a long run by the backs. After a Wolfhound penalty and sin bin, North Shore had another long run and an easy charge-down try. Three more long run tries for North Shore before Wolfhounds controlled the ball with their forwards and scored a try at the bell.
The second half was controlled by the Wolfhounds who scored at 10 minutes, but was soon answered by North Shore. Wolfhounds again broke the line. A North Shore player was sent off for a late and dangerous tackle on a kicker. Despite having the better of North Shore, Wolfhounds were only able to cross once more to finish 45-25.
