The game was played under the floodlights on a pitch that had more to do with a swimming-pool than a rugby field due to prior days' heavy rainfalls.
Middlesex dominated the game but North Shore had several clear scoring opportunities in addtion to their lone try that are not reflected on the scoreboard due to handling mistakes or Middlesex's efficient line of defense. Scrums and line-outs were an even contest, but Middlesex's backline showed great speed and creativity to score 7 tries (only 2 converted).
